LAUNCHING OF STATISTICS CORNER AT LABUHANBATU UNIVERSITY (ULB)

The Statistical Corner is a collaboration service between BPS and Universities. This activity is a concern of BPS in disseminating the variety and benefits of statistical products produced by BPS in universities. Through the Statistical Corner, it is hoped that literacy and utilization of statistics in the Higher Education environment will increase.

The Statistical Corner has been running in stages since 2019 with the first Statistical Corner at Hasanudin University in Makassar. In its development, the Statistical Corner has also been present at the University of North Sumatra (USU) and Padang State University (UNP) with the legal basis of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between BPS and Universities in their regions.

In Labuhanbatu Regency, the first Statistical Corner was present at Labuhanbatu University (ULB). The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and launching of the Statistics Corner was held on August 4, 2022, located at the library of Labuhanbatu University (ULB). The Chancellor of the University of Labuhanbatu (ULB) Mr. Ade Parlaungan Nasution had got to be the first visitor at the Statistical Corner.

The Statistical Corner carries the concept of collaboration services between BPS and Universities. Collaboration between BPS and universities is also carried out to build statistical agents in the context of increasing statistical literacy and fostering statistical activities. This synergy between BPS and Universities does not only include the provision of statistical services in universities, but also supports the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program, which is a new program within the university environment.
