Rantauprapat, September 1–Inflation Occurred in August 2025. BPS Statistics Labuhanbatu Regency recorded an inflation rate of 2.09 percent (m-to-m) in August 2025. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased from 111.51 in July 2025 to 113.84 in August 2025. This condition is consistent with that of August 2024, which also recorded a month-to-month inflation of 0.35 percent. The monthly inflation rate in August 2025 was higher than both the previous month and August 2024.
On a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis, inflation in August 2025 reached 4.69 percent, while the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation stood at 3.08 percent.
Out of the eleven expenditure groups, five experienced month-to-month inflation. The food, beverages, and tobacco group contributed the most to monthly inflation, with an inflation rate of 4.63 percent and a contribution of 2.05 percent. Meanwhile, the furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance group recorded the largest monthly deflation, at 0.52 percent, contributing -0.04 percent.
Regarding year-on-year inflation, the 4.69 percent rate in August 2025 was the highest annual inflation recorded so far in 2025. The food, beverages, and tobacco group was again the largest contributor, with an inflation rate of 7.41 percent and a contribution of 3.27 percent. In contrast, the information, communication, and financial services group recorded the highest annual deflation, at 1.65 percent, contributing -0.04 percent. The commodities with the most significant contributions to annual inflation were shallots (0.73 percent), gold jewelry (0.61 percent), rice (0.51 percent), machine-made kretek cigarettes (0.33 percent), and round scad fish (0.26 percent).
