Abstract
EXPORT
• The value of exports through the port of loading in the
Sumatera Utara region in January 2020 has decreased compared to December 2019,
from US $ 628.01 million to US $ 590.02 million or decreased by 6.05 percent.
When compared with January 2019, Sumatera Utara exports decreased by 13.52 percent.
• The group of goods that experienced the largest increase in
export value of Sumatera Utara in January 2020 against December 2019 was a
group of various chemical products amounting to US $ 9.64 million (18.17%). The
biggest decline in export value occurred in the animal / vegetable fats and
oils group of US $ 44.78 million (-17.84%).
• Exports to the United States in January 2020 were the
largest at US $ 79.86 million followed by China at US $ 64.12 million and India
at US $ 47.06 million with the contribution of the three reaching 32.38 percent.
• According to the group of main export destinations in
January 2020, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with
a value of US $ 227.36 (38.53 percent).
IMPORT
• Import value through Sumatera Utara in January 2020 based
on CIF (cost, insurance & freight) of US $ 391.34 million, or an increase
of 2.42 percent compared to December 2019 which reached US $ 382.11 million.
When compared with the same month in the previous year, the value of imports
decreased by 14.50 percent.
• Import value according to class of goods use in January
2020 compared to December 2019, capital goods rose by 9.87 percent, raw /
auxiliary materials rose by 13.60 percent while consumption goods decreased by
52.83 percent.
• In January 2020, the group of goods that experienced the
highest increase in import value was machineries / aircraft mechanics at US $
12.51 million (19.78%). The group that experienced the highest decline in
import value was mineral fuels of US $ 8.37 million (-15.73%).
• January 2020 imports from China were the largest at US $
132.40 million with a role of 33.83 percent of the total Sumatera Utara
imports, followed by Singapore at US $ 48.44 million (12.38%) and Malaysia at
US $ 33, 08 million (8.45%).
