Abstract
• Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a
comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) against the price index
paid by farmers (Ib).
• FTT is one indicator to see the level
of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the
exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and
services consumed as well as for production costs.
• In May 2020, the NTP of Sumatera Utara
Province (2018 = 100) was recorded at 104.50 or decreased by 1.79 percent
compared to the April 2020 NTP of 106.41.
• The decline in FTT in May 2020 was
caused by the decline in FTT in two subsectors, namely the FTT of the
Horticultural Plants subsector by 2.66 percent, and the FTT of the People's
Plantation Plant subsector by 3.76 percent. While the NTP of the Food Crop
subsector increased by 0.50 percent, and the Farmers' NTP subsector rose by
1.69 percent.
• Changes in the Household Consumption
Index (IKRT) reflect the rural inflation / deflation rate. In May 2020, there
was rural inflation in Sumatera Utara of 0.18 percent. This was caused by the
rise in all indexes of household consumption groups (11 household consumption
groups).
• The Sumatera Utara Province
Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in North 2020 was 105.05, down 1.69 percent
compared to NTUP in the previous month.
