Abstract

Farmers' Exchange Rate (NTP) is the ratio of the price index received by farmers (It) to the index of price paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is one of the indicators to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the terms of trade (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
In June 2022, the NTP of Sumatera Utara Province (2018=100) was recorded at 117.31 or an increase of 0.78 percent compared to the NTP in May 2022, which was 116.40.
The increase in FTT in June 2022 was due to an increase in FTT in the Horticulture sub-sector at 8.88 percent and FTT for smallholder plantations at 1.36 percent. Meanwhile, the FTT of the other three sub-sectors decreased, namely the FTT of the Food Crops sub-sector at 1.44 percent, the FTT of the Livestock sub-sector at 2.41 percent, and the FTT of the Fisheries sub-sector at 0.24 percent.
Changes in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) reflect the rate of rural inflation/deflation. In June 2022, rural inflation in Sumatera Utara was 1.96 percent.
The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) of Sumatera Utara Province in June 2022 was 116.77 or an increase of 1.76 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.
