Abstract
The value of exports through loading
ports in the Sumatera Utara region in August 2023 decreased compared to July
2023, namely from US$970.08 million to US$924.97 million or a decrease of 4.65
percent. When compared with August 2022, Sumatera Utara's exports decreased by
31.37 percent

The category of goods that
experienced the largest increase in export value in August 2023 compared to
July 2023 was the animal/vegetable fats and oils, which increased by US$ 151.53
million (53.51%), while the category of goods that experienced the largest
decline in export value was coffee, tea and spices amounting to US$12.17
million (-30.86%)

Exports to China in August 2023 were
the largest, namely US$183.99 million, followed by the United States at
US$100.04 million and India at US$85.44 million with the contribution of the
three reaching 39.94 percent.
· According to the group of main
export destination countries in August 2023, exports to the Asian region
(outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US$380.71 million (41.16%).
