The Farmer Exchange Rate for Sumatera Utara Province in October 2023 is 126.79

·  Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).

·  NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of agricultural products for goods and services consumed and for production costs.

·  In October 2023, the NTP for Sumatera Utara Province (2018=100) was recorded at 126.79 or an increase of 0.46 percent compared to the NTP for September 2023, which was 126.20.

·  The increase in NTP in October 2023 was caused by an increase in the NTP of two subsectors, namely the NTP for the Food Crops subsector by 0.35 percent and the NTP for the People's Plantation Crops subsector by 1.03 percent. Meanwhile, the NTP for three other subsectors experienced a decline, namely the NTP for the Horticulture subsector by 2.56 percent, the NTP for the Livestock subsector at 0.36 percent, and the NTP for the Fisheries subsector at 0.13 percent.

·  The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) for Sumatera Utara Province in October 2023 was 124.54 or an increase of 0.12 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.
